ArtMaster, the Prague-based company behind the AI piano learning app Artie, has raised a $2.4 million seed round. Investors include Factorial Capital, Reflex Capital, Moises, Anchor founder Nir Zicherman, Wand founder Grant Davis and Google DeepMind’s Eliska Vorel, alongside existing backers Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl and Beat Saber founder Jaroslav Beck, according to the announcement.

Artie uses AI to listen to a user’s playing, identify mistakes and generate adjusted exercises in response, rather than simply marking passages right or wrong. The app has surpassed 500,000 users and generated more than 100 million social media views in its first year while limited to piano on iOS, the company says.

ArtMaster plans to use the funding to expand its AI models, which it says are trained entirely on proprietary data, to additional instruments including guitar, along with an Android version. The company was founded by Radim Vysoky and Michal Novak, who previously ran a music school in Prague that moved to video lessons during the pandemic before developing Artie to add real-time personalized feedback.
