ARIA Bans AI-Generated Tracks From Australia’s Official Charts

The Australian Recording Industry Association has updated its Charts Code of Practice to exclude fully AI-generated recordings from the country’s official charts. The new rule takes effect with the chart dated August 31, published August 28.

The move positions ARIA among the first major chart authorities to draw a formal line against AI-made music, as the industry grapples with how to handle a growing volume of synthetic recordings gaining traction on streaming platforms.
