Aurora, Ontario singer-songwriter Laura Fortini has released “Shattered,” her second public single, which will appear as the tenth track on her forthcoming 14-song self-titled debut album. The song follows her October 2025 debut single “Look In” and precedes a planned radio single, “Lights Went Out.”
Fortini says the track was inspired by a private family situation involving her twin brother, written within days of witnessing the conflict. She co-created the song with producer Mathew Teofilo, known as Songsbury, aiming to preserve the emotional rawness of the experience in the final recording. A lyric video is available now, with a full music video to follow.
According to the announcement, Fortini’s previous single “Lights Went Out” drew coverage from outlets including Tinnitist, Cashbox Canada, Record World International and Aurora Today, as well as broadcast mentions from CW33 in Dallas, ATV Today in the UK and Concert Monkey in Belgium. Fortini, who studies at York University while continuing Royal Conservatory of Music training, has now completed three of the 14 tracks planned for her debut album.
