BMI has wrapped the second edition of its Composer Lab, a mentorship program for eight emerging film and TV composers. The 2026 class included Wesley Amorim, Andreu Diport, Christa Duggan, Yaron Eigenstein, Danahyah Evans, Jason Fujita, Geneviève Gros-Louis and Ana Krstajić, who worked with mentors including James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman, Harry Gregson-Williams and Mark Isham.

The program was led by composer Peter Golub, former director of the Sundance Film Music Program, alongside BMI’s VP of Film, TV & Visual Media Tracy McKnight. Participants closed out the lab with an orchestral recording and mixing session at Nathan Barr’s Bandrika Studios in Tarzana, California, working with the Hollywood Cinematic Orchestra.

Industry advisors involved in the program included Warner Bros. Pictures Music President Paul Broucek, Searchlight Pictures and 20th Century Studios SVP of Music John Houlihan, and WME’s head of music for visual media Bradley Rainey, according to BMI.
