Bridges for Music has named art’otel the official hotel partner for its 10th annual ADE Charity Cycle, a fundraising ride connecting London and Amsterdam during Amsterdam Dance Event. The ride, taking place October 20-21, will see 40 riders from the music industry cycle 235km from art’otel London Hoxton to Amsterdam, with the charity aiming to raise £100,000, which it says would cover tuition for 100 students at its Bridges Academy in Cape Town’s Langa Township.
The partnership also includes a day-long takeover at art’otel Amsterdam on October 22, produced with House of A and Africa Rising Music Conference, featuring performances from Kususa, Oskido, Kalawa Jazmee, Yamz, Phiwo and Paradise Sound System alongside industry networking and emerging artist showcases focused on African talent. art’otel will host donation points via QR codes and says it will contribute a percentage of proceeds from the event to the charity.
Bridges for Music says its ADE Charity Cycle has raised more than £500,000 over nine previous editions, with past participants including Richie Hawtin, Joris Voorn, Chris Liebing and Zakes Bantwini, along with teams from Resident Advisor, Beatport Group and Toolroom. The organization says proceeds have funded two education facilities in Langa Township, the Bridges Academy and the Creative Club.
