Peterborough, Ontario singer-songwriter and fiddler Irish Millie has released her new album “Can You See Me?,” a seven-track coming-of-age record centered on themes of neurodivergence, isolation and self-acceptance. The album’s title track and lead single “Boy At My Funeral,” featuring Marshall Pula, evolved from an acoustic demo into a fuller pop-rock production during recording, according to the announcement.
Millie has been nominated seven times for Canadian Folk Music Awards across her three releases, including her debut “Thirteen,” the album “GRACE” and the 2026 EP “Between Then and Now.” This year she was named a Robinson Emerging Artist Award winner at the Goderich Celtic Roots Festival and was selected as North2North’s 2026 Breakthrough Artist, an honor that took her to Sweden’s Lilla By Festivalen in June to perform on the main stage, according to the announcement.
Millie’s background in Celtic fiddle traditions continues to inform her music, though her songwriting has become the focus of her artistic identity, per the release. She is currently completing a degree in Music Industry and Technology at the University of Toronto Scarborough and has performed across Canada, the United States and Europe.
