UK singer-songwriter Daniel Pickard, formerly of art-pop band Half Loon, will release his debut album Behaviour on October 23 via AWAL. The announcement arrives alongside the new single “Heartbeats the Flaw,” accompanied by a visualizer directed by Axel Gillot.
The Coventry-raised, London-based artist describes the single as drawing on French touch influences, exploring the highs and lows of romance and loyalty. The album features contributions from composer and violinist Owen Pallett, known for his work with Arcade Fire, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Pet Shop Boys, as well as composer Michael Stein of Stranger Things.
Behaviour spans ten tracks touching on settings ranging from a nineteenth-century brothel to a São Paulo airport, drawing on influences including French pop, Italo disco and Serge Gainsbourg-style lyricism, according to the announcement.
