Having a striking resemblance to a known musician is one thing; being able to fit the all-round profile of a rapper is another. Hollywood Turk satisfied both conditions and has managed to keep this up and set a solid foundation for a blooming rap career. Hollywood Turk moved from North Carolina to California in 2010, where he instantly got drawn to the Hollywood fanfare and glamor.
He settled into the lifestyle, got fascinated by it, and that strengthened his resolve to become a successful rapper. He got his name from his friends in high school because of his resemblance to Cash Money Turk from the Hot Boys. It took some time for Hollywood Turk to fully embrace his full essence as a rapper. Despite the strong desire and motivation, he wasn’t confident right off the bat. With lots of songs in his storage, he didn’t release his first album until October 31, 2019. In his words, “I had a lot of songs recorded and ready to go, but I didn’t feel ready before that time. I made sure I was ready, and after the album dropped, I followed up with music videos for the songs.”
Hollywood Turk has cited the late 2Pac as his first inspiration to make rap music at 12 years old. He spent years sampling and freestyling to his music. He also took up poetry in his English class, which made his songwriting and wordplays significantly better. Hollywood Turk’s life has mostly been influenced by heavy street and gang activities, but none of that noise was able to dim his shine or get in the way of his dreams. Beyond overcoming his challenges and striving to reach the top in the music world, Hollywood has an adventurous spirit. He once went on a cross-country ride with his friend, TJ in his ’93 Mercedes Benz.
Hollywood Turk has improved in his craft and now has a style similar to many new school rap artists. Many people have likened him to artists like Juicy J, Gucci Mane, and Young Dolph. Beyond music, Hollywood Turk does Improv and can do great comedy effortlessly. He also has a merchandise brand where he sells designer face masks at the moment. In his words, “There’s COVID-19 out there, and everyone should look fly even while wearing their masks. I make that happen with my quality products.”
Over the past decade, Hollywood Turk’s career in the entertainment industry has been characterized by the sheer will to put in work and succeed. “I don’t see myself as having anybody to compete against. I lead by example with my positive lifestyle, humility, and loyalty. I am not against anybody because I run my race all by myself with a focus on my goals,” he says.
Hollywood has also been making moves to secure his financial future by investing in stocks and trading FOREX. He mentioned this in his song, “Can’t Give Up” which is available across all digital streaming platforms.
His five-year goal is to conquer the global music market. He is putting in the work required, learning more about the music business. All he hopes for is for his music to get out there, capture people’s hearts, and grow his fan base worldwide. Hollywood Turk has also expressed some strong optimism and confidence about his craft as he believes his big break looms around the corner.
