Composer Peter Melnick has released “Your Eyes, The Moon And You,” the third single from his forthcoming debut album, due in 2027. The song follows previously released tracks “Helpless” and “Still Here.”
The track, produced by Joseph E-Shine, features lead vocals from New York-based artist Aubrey Haddard, with a backing lineup that includes Curtis Kelley on drums, Randy Tico on upright bass, Tommy King on piano, Davy Nathan on organ and keys, Jake Chapman on marimba and vibraphone, and horn and wind arrangements by David Campbell. Melnick also plays guitars and percussion on the recording.
The release marks a shift for Melnick, who has spent his career composing for film, television and musical theater, into releasing original songwriting under his own name. He is currently adapting Snow in August for Broadway with lyricist Mindi Dickstein and librettist Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and his film and TV scoring credits include L.A. Story, The Only Thrill and Convicts. He is the grandson of composer Richard Rodgers and the son of film producer Daniel Melnick.
