Rivkah Reyes, the musician and actor known for playing bassist Katie in 2003’s “School of Rock,” has released the single “Ugly Cry,” co-written with Jesse Aicher (girlpuppy, Ava Max, G-Eazy). The power-pop track precedes Reyes’ debut EP “Fan Favorite,” due November 6 and produced by Constantine Anastasakis, whose credits include Anna Shoemaker and Porches.

Reyes describes the song as centering on an anxious attachment dynamic within a relationship. The EP follows earlier singles “Menace,” “Debt Collector” and “Miss Congeniality,” the last of which drew coverage from Atwood Magazine and other outlets, according to the announcement.

Reyes will mark the EP’s release with a show at Brooklyn’s Sultan Room on November 6, followed by dates at Los Angeles’ Peppermint Club on November 12 and Chicago’s Empty Bottle on November 24. Beyond music, Reyes has continued acting, with recent roles in Netflix’s “One of Them Days” and the Sundance-premiered “Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls.”
