Proud North Philly local Rockstar Nova is no ordinary rising music artist as he makes his grand entrance in the music industry this year with explosive songs that are making waves on various streaming platforms. Born JaVon Stukes, the Virginia-born and Philadelphia-raised music artist is using a unique and emerging music genre which he likes to call hiprock, the uncommon yet remarkable combination of Lenny Kravitz’s rock and roll stylings and the electrifying R&B influence of Chris Brown mixed with HipHop.
Early this year, Rockstar Nova kicked off 2020 with the release of his single Toxic Love under his new name. The first release was followed by the launching of 4:00 AM, Dirty Diana, I 95, Animal, and Famous. This year, he also released a couple of remixes of other songs, including Come Thru and Wake Up Dead. Despite the many challenges the world faced this 2020, Rockstar Nova couragely rebranded himself and made this a very productive season. This year, however, is only the beginning of even greater things to come as he prepares to launch an even bigger project next year called Hard Rock Life.
Before rebranding himself, the passionate music artist started out as a rapper. In the early days of his rap career, he did an impressive collaboration with big names in the industry, including E. Ness, Project Pat, Chedda Da Connect, Tory Lanez, Chip, and Fetty Wap. Evolving into the artist he has now become was an exciting journey for the half-black musician. He has always believed that he was never meant to be categorized in a single genre. For him, doing this would mean limiting himself and his creativity. Instead, he chose to break free from industry standards and introduce his own genre, something that he hopes fellow artists will embrace in time.
Just like many successful music artists in this generation, Rockstar Nova remembers falling in love with music at a very early age. Exposed to the rich musical culture and heritage of Philadelphia in most parts of his life, he has a deep appreciation for various musical genres from R&B, soul, jazz, hip-hop, rock and roll, and pop music. Interestingly, he allowed himself to embrace all of these genres until he decided to take music seriously at the age of 12. In his 17th year, he found himself writing original songs while living in Tappahannock, Virginia, the hometown of popular music artist Chris Brown.
At this point in his career, Rockstar Nova is all about unraveling his innate gifts, sharing them with the world, and making an impact in doing so. As millions of people around the world continue to brave this challenging season, he hopes to inspire people to still find the time to have fun under the circumstances, to be bold, and make the most of life.
