Rivkah Reyes, the musician and actor known for playing bassist Katie in the 2003 film “School of Rock,” has released her debut EP “Fan Favorite.” The six-song project was produced by Constantine Anastasakis, who has also worked with Porches and Anna Shoemaker, and includes a co-write with Jesse Aicher, known for work with girlpuppy, Ava Max and G-Eazy.
The EP touches on relationships, addiction and child stardom, including the track “Katie,” which Reyes describes as a reflection on growing up in the shadow of her famous film role. Lead track “Loopholes” arrives with a one-take music video shot on a camcorder at a Queens subway platform, following earlier singles “Ugly Cry,” “Menace,” “Debt Collector” and “Miss Congeniality.”
Reyes is supporting the release with shows at Brooklyn’s Sultan Room, the Peppermint Club in Los Angeles on Nov. 12 and Empty Bottle in Chicago on Nov. 24.
