Baby Snakes & The Electric Co., the project of Dallas producer and Modern Electric Sound Recorders founder Jeff Saenz, has released its debut album, Ouroboros, via Spaceflight Records. The 12-track record is structured around the four seasons and follows previously released singles “Dark Horse,” “Kintsugi” and “Diamonds on the Chorus,” alongside the new single and video “Valleys.”
According to the announcement, Saenz wrote and recorded the songs one per month over the course of a year, with the album marking his return to music following a 2021 accident that resulted in the amputation of both his hands. The project features his longtime band, including drummer Matt Rainwater.
Spaceflight Records will release a gatefold double-LP colored vinyl edition of the album, along with individual 7-inch pressings of the four singles, each paired with a cover of a song by an artist including Siouxsie & The Banshees, Little Feat, The Church and Bruce Springsteen. The band has also announced November live dates, including an in-store performance at Waterloo Records in Austin and an appearance at Dallas’ Deep Ellum Block Party.
