David Worby has released “Play You Again” featuring Alyssa Trahan, the closing track on his four-song EP Worby & Friends, now available on major streaming platforms. The song, written by Worby, Georgia Middleman and Amanda Green, follows three earlier releases on the project: “Hope” with The Bennett Hall Band, and the double single “Living Large In A Small Town” with Breaking Eight and “Hard Hats” with Matt Wynn, on which Trahan previously served as a co-writer.
Worby, a trial attorney known for his legal advocacy on behalf of Ground Zero rescue and recovery workers after the Sept. 11 attacks, serves as songwriter and co-executive producer on the project alongside Michael August and Suzanne Worby, with Simon Reid producing. According to the announcement, Worby will donate one dollar for every stream of a track from the EP, up to $100,000 split between the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The label says Worby & Friends is the first chapter of a larger body of work; additional tracks featuring Ava Paige and Hunter Jordan are planned in the coming weeks, followed by a full album including “Blue Collar Boots” and “You Must Have Read My Mind.” Worby has more than 25 country music cuts to his credit, and this project marks his first release under his own creative direction.
