Matt Corman Is a Rising Star in the Hip-Hop Scene Like No Other

0

Matt Corman broke into the music scene in 2014 when he released his debut mixtape “Bars Over Bass” straight out of his college dorm room. Each year Matt has been upping the ante, starting with the release of his second mixtape entitled Speak First in 2015. During this time, he performed at live events and concerts. Matt has also been credited as a supporting act for Post Malone, Fetty Wap, Sammy Adams, and Cam Meekins.

Riding the wave of his success, Matt Corman teamed up with Nicco Catalano, also known as Neek, in 2016. Neek helped Matt craft his sound, and the rest is history. In the winter, Matt opened for Sammy Adams in front of a sold-out crowd at the House of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts. He also joined yet another sold-out performance with Fetty Wap in the Fall of 2017, putting hip on the map and establishing his artistry.

He has celebrated a lot of success throughout his illustrious career, and he isn’t stopping anytime soon. Despite his success, he never forgets to look back at his roots. Matt Corman became the first alumni to ever perform at the Major Homecoming Concert for Southern New Hampshire University in front of a crowd of 3,000 people. In February of 2018, he was selected among a few artists to headline and sell out the legendary Middle East in Boston, Massachusetts.

The man is non-stop; with each success that he earns, he continues to put in more work and release more stuff. He released his project “Whiteboards & Windows” on November 23, 2018. Shortly after, Matt Corman also founded his own record label, dubbed MIH Universal. MIH stands for Make It Happen, which are words that Matt lives by; these words are also tattooed on his right arm.

Once he got the label up and running, he went on tour with Aaron Carter.

Matt Corman has a massive fanbase and a dedicated audience. His brand and his music have gained cult status thanks to his infectious personality and his ever-growing catalog of music. He has amassed over 20 million streams, and that number only grows bigger by the day.

He recently began releasing a song every Friday, starting on August 28, 2020. From then on, he plans to continue releasing new music every Friday for the rest of 2020. His songs have been used by the popular Youtubers NELK and FaZe Rug. Most notably, his song “Need Your Lane” has amassed a lot of views on social media, all thanks to NELK and their loyal audience.

Matt Corman is fully self-made; he has established his music and his brand as an independent artist throughout his entire career. He has made the decision to stay as an independent artist this year, despite having multiple conversations with massive music labels in November of 2019.

As an independent artist, he drives his business forward on his own terms. He has complete ownership of his masters, distribution, publishing, and brand direction.

In the near future, Matt plans to be the head of his own record label. He aspires to have a couple of songs on Billboard’s Top 10, as well as a No. 1 song. He wants to pursue mentoring other artists and creatives to help drive their brand in their direction and vision. Matt Corman also wants to give back to underdeveloped communities and help give them the resources they need to be sustainable.

Matt Corman and his music have allowed him to gain opportunities that others do not have. He wishes to use it for the betterment of the entire music industry and to his community at large. With his hard work and sheer musical talent, Matt has achieved so much, yet he wishes to do more, and it’s exciting to see what he comes up with next.

Becoming Young’s Brandon Calano Sifts through the Debris of Being Young, Restless, and Recklessly Romantic on Sexy Pop Album, Feeling Single

0

An intoxicating redhead, dizzying summer lust, reckless attraction and hot, ill-fated love take center stage on Becoming Young’s masterful post-summer pop album, Feeling Single, out September 24. Brandon Calano, who lived these juicy narratives, invites us into a private collection of sultry snapshots. The seductive eight-song album shows there’s nothing as exhilarating as becoming young and feeling single.

“I began writing Feeling Single after ending a long-term relationship; I was in my feels, feeling single. I quickly realized I had no game, but I could write songs—that would be my game,” the Nashville-artist says with a playful smirk. “Most of the tracks are about different people, although a few are about one in particular.”

Becoming Young is a mindset ideal—it represents the notion of love as liberation, the breaking down of emotional walls, shackling self-doubt, and overthinking. Musically, this work lives somewhere between mint-fresh, Lauv-esque pop and the intoxicating hooks of Glass Animals. It’s pop but with a sexy urban flair. Brandon’s lyrics are steamy still lifes of modern romance and impulsive seduction.

Feeling Single was initially slated to be an EP, but Brandon’s muse came alive during pandemic ennui, and he cut a staggering 15 songs in 5 months. Nashville-based producer Austin Shawn (Sony/BMG) produced most of the songs on the record, and the two had to maintain something of a secret liaison. “While we were on lockdown, I would put faux groceries in my car in case I got stopped on the way to his home studio,” Brandon recalls with a good-natured laugh.

The album offers a peek into the best possible post-breakup scenario. You have options, the consequences aren’t so bad, and the soundtrack is bumping. Feeling Single is a series of episodes of new connections, and each track explores combustible interactions well before phones explode with text messages and people are blocked. It’s mostly the good times here, and the resulting music is frisky, dance-y, and euphoric.

Feeling Single holds together as a collection of standout songs and a cohesive record, a rare artistic feat. Six of the songs are well-received singles. From the seductive slow-burn, “High,” the album flows with a sense of no-strings-attached excitement, bouncing from banger to banger before winding down with the penultimate, reflective ballad, “Not Our Time.” A stirring song.

To date, Becoming Young has earned over 1.5 million collective spins on Spotify and recently partnered with boutique distributor, Cmd Shft. Bandon Calano has previously won Nashville’s esteemed True Music Room Top Writer Series, and he has played sold-out shows in Atlanta, Denver, Boulder, Portland, and Seattle as Becoming Young.

Letasia Leak: Her Incredible Journey from Educator to Promising Singer

0

Independent R&B and soul music artist Letasia Leak is inspiring music lovers significantly with her moving songs. The talented songwriter and singer is best known for her lyrical talent that gives life to words that heal the soul. Before deciding to pursue a music career, Letasia was a passionate educator who taught special education and science since 2004.

Letasia’s love for education was primarily imparted to her by her loving grandmother, who ran a daycare when she was a small child. At some point, she would assist her grandmother in teaching math, reading, and art to her preschool students while she was already in high school and middle school. Being around children fanned her growing love for teaching that eventually blossomed into a full-blown career after she finished a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina Central University and then a masters in teaching and learning from Nova Southeastern University.

While education was her first love, she eventually chose to pursue her greatest passion in life, which is music. Letasia became more convinced that she can impact more lives as a singer and help people experience inner healing and receive positivity for their hearts and souls. Growing up, Letasia had her share of difficult challenges where it concerned her parents, who had her when they were just in high school. As can be expected, her parents were not ready to fulfill their roles, considering their very young age. As a result, her family circumstances forced Letasia to live with her paternal grandmother at the age of five.

Fortunately, Letasia experienced a better life as she was being raised by her grandmother, who was a devout Southern Baptist woman, bringing Letasia along to prayer meetings, Bible studies, choir rehearsal, and Sunday services. This influence opened the door for her to sing in the church choir. She eventually started writing songs and poetry when she was about eight years old. Between 2007 to 2008, Letasia attempted to get people to sing and produce some of the things she wrote. Sadly, most of them did not materialize. Quite often, someone would also attempt to change the words in her songs, changing its whole theme and message altogether.

Around 2018, after many years of waiting for a break, Letasia decided to take matters into her own hands and independently produce and sing her own original songs.

“I’m motivated to build my own brand because I want people to experience my music and grow spiritually. I’ve always wanted to change the world in a positive way, and this is my way of doing so,” Letasia Leak explains. “I want others to be inspired by my story and encouraged to listen to my music, ultimately encouraging them to love themselves more as well as the people who surround them,” she adds.

Letasia’s music preferences have always leaned toward soul, rhythm and blues, jazz, and inspiring music that comforts one’s inner being. The classic and sophisticated appeal of these genres resonates with her inner passion, character, and fire for life. While she may not be classified as a gospel artist, Letasia admits that she is closer to the likes of legendary singers like Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, and India Arie. She describes her brand of music as healing music or food for the soul—the kind that inspires change, inner healing, relaxation, and the freedom to be unique.

Letasia Leak sees herself reaching larger audiences from around the world with her music in the next five years. She wants to continue to inspire her listeners and give them hope that they can dream big and work at achieving it. Aside from creating her own music, she also wants to be able to collaborate with other artists, both new and seasoned ones, and write songs for them at the same time.

With her heart in the right place and her soul filled with love and passion for music, Letasia is a star in the making—one that will continue to shine bright even when others lose their luster.

Pop Cautious Records and Its Vision of Peace, Unity, and Love

According to Steve Jobs, it is the leader’s job to transform the company’s noble cause into a vision so inspiring that it will entice the world’s most talented individuals to join. Pop Cautious is the stage name of singer-songwriter and producer, Tyler Porterfield. Under his leadership, Pop Cautious Records has attracted over a dozen exceptionally skilled artists to its roster since it’s inception, and the list only continues to grow.

Pop Cautious Records was originally launched in February 2015, with a vision of promoting “the honest resonance of authentic music.” A common goal unites artists signed under the label: to raise awareness on current social issues through music, art, and media. In effect, they hope to stimulate personal and social transformation and progress towards positive change.

Employing a very hands-on approach to leadership, Pop Cautious has been involved with writing, developing, producing, publishing, and promoting some of his artists from start to finish. His influential leadership style inspires the growth of the record label and the artists, and the label’s evolution is continual. After a shift in the label’s infrastructure, Tyler took some time off. He focused on regrouping after facing a brief period of homelessness in Los Angeles due to circumstances beyond his control. This meant the reboot of the label, and they are regaining the momentum they lost.

Marketing and music business education brought Pop Cautious to realize that he wanted to build a business out of music with good intentions and positive messages. Today’s pop culture and the music industry typically have had some questionable agendas that the general public—including the impressionable youth—are exposed to. Through his music and record label, he hopes to sow positivity further and inspire people to do the same.

Still, words without actions are meaningless. Pop Cautious signed his friends’ bands and strived to build this community of musicians and music enthusiasts. This community now supports his efforts to create progressive waves of change for various causes, including hosting clothing and food drives for the homeless at their shows and raising money for different charities.

Competition is not a factor for Pop Cautious Records. Intending to spread peace, unity, and love, it celebrates all others who share the same vision and strives to reach as many people as possible. Their latest projects are to raise awareness of prevalent social issues.

“Peace Song” was released in August, and the music video is in the making. 7” vinyls will be released this September. The song calls attention to peaceful protests and the violence they are met with. A Native American Rights Compilation will come shortly after. Their upcoming projects include a compilation for female musicians and another compilation for Black musicians and Black-led bands.

More than expanding the reach of their music and rising to fame, Pop Cautious hopes that the message they are trying to convey will touch deep into its listeners’ hearts—hopefully enough to spur them to action.

Pop Cautious continues to inspire people with his ambitious goal of peace and unity for all, and the accomplishments both he and his record label achieved in working towards that goal. The artist plans on releasing new music soon, and he continues to record his debut LP titled, Troubadour. Underdog Artist Young Blazer Will Sweep Audiences Off Their Feet

Haters and criticisms can genuinely bring any artist down. But once they get past that point, such talented individuals rise from the negativity to reveal a stronger version of themselves, ready to take on the world with their capabilities. Music artist Young Blazer was the diamond in the rough. He had to face many challenges, but he proves that he braved a journey worth taking.

Young Blazer, also known as Blazer, hails from Worcester, Massachusetts, a small town where becoming an artist is a rare profession. Aside from being a rapper, Blazer also possesses an entrepreneurial spirit. His brand is partnered with another unique label called #ADE, which means After Death Entertainment. The label is Blazer’s avenue for expressing himself fully as an artist without restricting his abilities and talents to succeed in the music industry.

Young Blazer’s independently produced album entitled Hated by All made his mark in the industry. It truly captured his personality and revealed his voice, story, and narrative to the listeners. On the other hand, Blazer is on a mission to bring other aspiring artists in his city into the spotlight through his series of collaboration EPs.

The artist’s solo EP called What They Want fulfills what the audiences are hungry for nowadays: melodic trap music. Young Blazer knows how to position his music to tick all the listeners’ boxes and satisfy what they want to hear. Blazer is currently working on his new masterpiece called No Regrets. The album is set to be released soon across all major streaming platforms.

Young Blazer had formerly experienced a hurdle with plagiarism. While working with upcoming artists from his town, Blazer encountered a problem with the American rapper Joyner Lucas. “Two of my former artists did a remix to Lil Pump’s Gucci Gang but with a catch. They used a remake instrumental and not the original,” Blazer said. The artists essentially made something unique from the original composition and had the potential to make waves in the business.

However, Young Blazer was caught in a situation where the works of his two artists were produced and launched identically by Joyner Lucas. As Blazer shared, it wasn’t a pleasant experience because Joyner was very prominent. In turn, the people’s anger and hate got directed at him for calling the wrong out. Nevertheless, Blazer is still determined to build his name in the industry despite the hatred. Blazer considers himself his city’s most controversial artist, and he is banking on the criticism to make himself better.

“I know what it’s like to have nothing and I know what it’s like to be hated and doubted beyond anybody’s belief,” Young Blazer shared. “My grind and determination is stronger than most because this is something I have been doing for years and I know I’m good at it and will not give up no matter what,” Blazer added.

Young Blazer has indeed seen dark days in his career. One time, he was also manipulated by a trusted friend. “When I finally realized what was going on, I got fed up and said to myself I was never about to listen to anybody about my music ever again. I will do it my way or no way at all,” Blazer said. When he did find the courage, the artist discovered that his way was better and more efficient.

Asked what he wants to say to upcoming artists and the underdogs in the industry, Young Blazer said that as corny as it may sound, they should follow their dreams. “I used to laugh at people when they told me to follow my dreams but then I actually took the words literally and made everything I wanted to happen,” added the artist.

He said that he is interested in working with more artists or businesses to promote African and Afro-American culture through their platforms.
