Brandon Haymaker: Rising Music Artist Releases Music Video for His First Single “Cocaine Paint”

What most people perceive to be a downtime for many music artists at this time turned out to be a productive season for rising artist, songwriter, and producer, Brandon Haymaker. The U.S. Army veteran and entrepreneur launched his album called Survival this July 4, 2020. Haymaker recently released the music video for his lead single in the album, “Cocaine Paint,” and it has reached over 10,000 views in a matter of one week.

Haymaker, also known as Brandon Hay and previously as AyoB, considers Survival his best album by far. It features collaborations with popular producer CashMoneyAP and well-known L.A. rapper Ace Bad Ass for the song called “Cut.” Haymaker poured out all his creativity on this record and believes that it will skyrocket in the succeeding weeks as he continues to grow his fanbase steadily.

He is best known for giving unforgettable performances at famous outlets like SXSW and doing front acts for high-profile artists such as Lil Flip, Lil Keke, and Minus Gravity, to mention a few. Haymaker was also instrumental in producing hit songs for Rae Sremmurd, DJ Quik, Lil Jon, Rico Recklezz, Cuban Doll, Jay Rock, Blocboy JB, Rich The Kid, and Dreezy.

Aside from writing good music, he also produces unbelievably good instrumentals for hip-hop, rap, and pop artists. He also works closely with aspiring new artists who wish to make an impact in the music industry. Haymaker helps out either in songwriting, suggesting directions as to the flow of the music, or promoting their songs on various social media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram.

Haymaker’s passion for music started at a very young age. He loved performing in front of students and parties singing songs from hip-hop to rap and hardcore metal. He went on to join the army when he finished high school and was deployed in Afghanistan in 2011. While serving the country abroad, music never left his mind. Upon his return from deployment in 2012, he decided to start building his music career while finishing out his military contract, thus moving back home to Phoenix, Arizona. Haymaker started to release singles, mixtapes, and music videos to create awareness for himself. 

To develop his skills further, he enrolled in the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science (CRAS), where he mastered the technical standards of mixing music to match radio and professional quality. He finished in CRAS at the top of his class after eight months. 

In 2015, Haymaker moved to L.A. and worked in a famous recording studio while trying to build his network at the same time. In 2018, he launched his album called #ditUSA,mia (Designed in the USA, Made In Afghanistan). The album mostly revealed his experience in the army and the life he chose upon returning home. #ditUSA,mia was an instant success as it reached over 50,000 streams. His collaboration with CashMoneyAP and Resource from the Ear Drummers to produce the album proved to be very promising.

Through his music, Haymaker hopes to reach out to fellow veterans and inspire some of them who may be battling PTSD. His message incorporated in his songs always speaks about staying positive and working hard to achieve one’s goals. His life, for instance, is a clear example of what it is like to have come from nothing and become somebody.  

Haymaker believes that by putting God first, he can accomplish anything. Creating a balanced lifestyle is very important to him, and he does this by spending quality time with God, finding new ways to promote his personal brand, and focusing on his daily workouts.

Moreover, he was also called “Florida’s next big thing” by several media outlets. 

Wolf has had the privilege of receiving multiple record label offers. Wolf believes that he can still accomplish his goals as an independent artist. He managed to make his song “By Myself” go viral in the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States even without the resources of a major recording label.

Rising hip-hop and Latin music artist, Arthur Sanchez, is getting ready to introduce new, exciting tracks before the year ends as he took advantage of the quarantine to produce new creations. The songs will feature unique collaborations with other well-known artists from Colombia, Slovakia, Toronto, and New Jersey. They will also showcase the ever-evolving songwriting and singing skills of Sanchez.

Arthur Sanchez, born Arturo Macias Sanchez, has been in love with music since he was as young as four years old. The young artist remembers quite vividly how listening to music would make him happy and excited. His inclination to it at a young age resulted in a desire to improve his singing and eventually write his own songs.

He was so drawn to the art form that he would save his earnings from doing small jobs on weekends so he could pay for a slot in a professional recording studio. Why Don Diablo and Jessie J’s ‘Brave’ is This Summer’s Healthy Hit
Last year, Don Diablo and Jessie J made the music charts with their track, ‘Brave’. With COVID-19 still at large and shaping 2020 into a year full of surprises, the topic of mental health has become even more prevalent in our everyday routine, particularly for music artists. It just so happens that we stumbled back upon this amazing track, which not only has a summer vibe but that kick of inspiration that can help keep our motivation at high-levels, whether we are working out from home or just trying to get through the day. Diablo dedicated the song on Twitter last year to “all our BRAVE people out there struggling with LIFE in any way, shape or form,” as reported by Billboard.  “Sometimes, you just need an extra push to have more courage in life and more courage to chase your dreams or to simply stand up for what you believe in,” Diablo shared upon the track’s initial release. Written by Don Schipper (Don Diablo), Edvard Førre Erfjord, Henrik Barman Michelsen, James Newman, Janee Bennett, Jess Glynne, Martijn van Sonderen, and Sophie Francis Cook, ‘Brave’ gives us all the energy we need to take on whatever challenge we face during the quarantine and social distancing requirements.  <embed video> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiWyJfkZpl0 Last month, the ‘Brave’ singer announced to Women’s Health Magazine that she’s been putting in the work to keep her body in shape, starting with her diet. Last year, Jessie J opened up about her decision to go vegan and cut out sugar from her diet. “So four years ago, I cut out sugar from my diet to try and stop bacteria from building up in my body,” she shared in an interview with Plant Based News. “Once I cut out sugar, I realized how  much I began to enjoy food when it was good for me–and it was balancing out everything–my health, my moods, my sleep.” 

A ‘Brave’ Summer

So, how did ‘Brave’ become one of the top hits of 2019, with well over 1 million streams on Spotify? We spoke with one of the writers, Henrik Barman Michelsen, about how the song came to be. Michelsen is a member of Electric, the Norwegian songwriting and production duo, composed of Henrik Barman Michelsen and Edvard Førre Erfjord. Known for their work on Little Mix on their #1 UK hits Black Magic and Shout Out to My Ex, the latter of which won Single of the Year at the 2017 Brit Awards, as well as UK #1 I’ll Be There by Jess Glynne, they have worked with artists such as Olly Murs, Machine Gun Kelly, Hailee Steinfeld, The Wanted, Cheryl Cole, and Fifth Harmony. “Honestly, Don was the finisher on this one,” Michelsen began to explain. “Our role was much more to do with the inception of the song. It started with Jess Glynne, Jin Jin, and Ed and me. It all came from a conversation where Jess told us about a fan she’d met who was struggling with a serious illness, and how she was so affected by their positive attitude. James and Sophie then joined into the endeavor, and it grew into the final song you now know it as, over three writing and recording sessions over the span of a few weeks. Our original idea sounded quite different when Don came in and reimagined it!” According to the Electric artist, the power in Jess’s vocals combined with how she connected with the song made her the perfect fit for the track. If you are a fan of Diablo’s work, you may have noticed that this wasn’t a traditional Diablo track. “The song itself wasn’t written as a dance track,” Michelsen interjected, “so perhaps that explains the reimagination I describe to you. It was written stripped back on a piano. I think when you write to an energetic instrumental, you pull from different parts of yourself as a writer than when you’re writing to a simple piano. The song also began with the title and concept as mentioned earlier, so it was born from a lyrical perspective, with the lyric and melody front and center.” We were curious about what an average day was like with Electric and Diablo collaborating together on the project. What we learned was a bit surprising, but not uncommon to the industry. “We’ve never actually never met Don. This isn’t unusual as collaborations go these days. The daily life of a writer and producer usually consists of getting together in the studio for collaboration, but in this case, the song was written at a writing camp in a big house in the countryside, outside London. Jess Glynne and her label set the entire thing up, where all the writers and producers lived in the house for a week. Their equipment was set up in separate rooms, working through the days and hanging out until the early hours. We came in for the final two days of the camp, and in those two days we did ‘Brave’, and also Jess’s single ‘I’ll Be There.’ We were set up in the cinema room. That camp had a great atmosphere. So many talented people and a lot of camaraderies.”

And Then There Were Two…An Electrifying Bond

Back in 2007, Michelsen, who was attending Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, met his band partner, Erfjord, which little did he know, would forge an electrifying bond. “We met while attending university in Liverpool and were initially introduced because we’re both Norwegian. But we bonded over the music. Our tastes were complementary; we came from similar music backgrounds, but also listened to a lot of different music from each other.” The two lived together, sharing a flat for their first year while studying, which is where their collaborative journey began.  “Sharing the flat for our first year is where we started collaborating, first with other students from the same university, and then gradually getting production and writing gigs outside of school. Back then, we were a trio, although the third member ended up moving back to Norway. We just had a great admiration for pop music that bound us together.” The past five years for Electric, have been nothing less than exciting for both Michelsen and Erfjord. “It’s been an incredible time for us,” Michelsen emphasized. “Five years ago, we did Black Magic for Little Mix, and became heavily involved in that project and did several singles with them, which really helped us make our mark in the UK. This allowed us to work with so many amazing talents, both in the UK and the U.S., allowing us to bring together with our management in LA, which in turn, helped us expand our circle of collaborators. Along the way, we’ve amassed three number one tracks on UK’s music charts, and a couple of top five spots as well as working on slightly more alternative projects like Aurora, who in turn inspired many U.S. pop acts, most notably, Billie Eilish. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved; it’s something my younger self would be amazed by, and I count myself very lucky.”

Jack Garratt Performs as the Ultimate One-Man Band for Dizzy Billboard Live At-Home

On July 21, Jack Garratt became a one-man band for his Billboard Live At-Home set, which raised some money for The Trevor Project, a nationwide LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention organization.

As the UK electronics artist invited online concertgoers to “sit in the beautiful pinkness of my jumpsuit,” he sat in the middle of his panoramic keyboard and drum machine studio with an electric guitar in his lap. He enhanced “Better,” “Circles” and “Time” from his 2020 album Love, Death & Dancing with his circular set-up, but the real doozy was his comedic banter on which camera to watch.

“There’s more cameras than I thought there were. Wait, wait, wait …,” he drifted in his speech while frantically turning his head all around and above him. But if one person were to be surveilling him carefully, he said it would be his younger self. “If 13-year-old me knew that on a Facebook show I would just play the guitar and ad-libbed a melody to ‘Oh, it feels good to play guitar,’ he would disown me because that’s just embarrassing for everyone.”

Warner Chappell Music Signs Latin Grammy-Winning Producer Tony Succar

Warner Chappell Music, Warner Music Group’s musical publication arm, has entered into a publishing agreement with Grammy award-winning producer Tony Succar, which can be confirmed by Billboard.

After Michael Jackson ‘s 2015 salsa-inspired tribute album Unity: The Latin Tribute to Michael Jackson, which debuted No. 1 on Billboard’s Tropical Albums Charts, the award-winning Peruvian producer, musician and arranger last year won Latin Grammy for Best Salsa Album (Más De Mí) and producer of the year.

“It’s important for me to be able to experiment and constantly evolve my sound, and I’m thrilled to partner with a team like WCM where that’s supported and encouraged,” Succar said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to collaborating with talent from different genres and cultures to create something truly unique, which is what I strive for everyday as a producer, composer, and artist. And of course bringing my Peruvian sound to the international music market is a big focus for me, it’s my culture and my roots, and the world needs to hear more of us.”

August Alsina Defines His ‘Entanglements’ to Jada Pinkett Smith on New Record With Rick Ross: Listen

Since Jada Pinkett Smith broke the news of her “entanglement” with August Alsina at the Red Table Talk last week, the Louisiana crooner is back on his new track with a raging rebuttal.

 Titled “Entanglements,” Alsina taps Rick Ross for a hot partnership featuring multiple shots of fire on his old flame, Pinkett Smith. Published by up-and-coming songwriter Derrick Milano, lines like “That ain’t my girl, but I got the key to the crib and to the car” and “You left your man just to f— with me and break his heart” reside on the rocky anthem.

Alsina also quips on the sense of entanglement on the hook of the single, singing: “The definition of entanglement is when you’re tangled in the sheets.”

Pinkett Smith felt the attention of the Red Table Talk as she wanted to downplay her relationship with Alsina and referred to it as an “entanglement.” Upon being asked to expand on her comment by her husband, Will Smith, Pinkett Smith said: “Yes, it was a relationship, absolutely. I was in a lot of pain and I was very broken,” she said. “Now in the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself.”

She also explained why, after her breakup with Smith, she searched after August. “That idea of needing to fix, being drawn to people that need help. Whether it’s your health or whether it’s your addictions, there’s something about that childhood trauma that feels as though it can be fixed through fixing people, versus fixing me.”
