Be Envious of Cody Heims: The Rapper With A Heart

It remains undeniable that the best things in life are always those that come from the heart. When a person pours their heart and soul into the things they do, it truly resonates with others. Cody Heims, more popularly known as Envious, is an actor and up-and-coming rapper based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. He recently released two singles, “Nightmares” and “Dreamin”, and will soon release his new songs “Anxiety” and “Dear Mama” on major music streaming platforms.

Currently, Envious is at the studio working on an 8-track album, titled “Pieces of Myself”, aptly titled so as it outlines various aspects of his personality. The singles “Nightmares” and “Dreamin” are the first two tracks in the album, which he describes as “yin and yang”, with the former talking about being trapped in a nightmare, and the latter referencing this nightmare. Some of the rappers that he takes inspiration from include Eminem, NF, Machine Gun Kelly, Logic, who he listened to when he was young.

The 27-year old Cody Heims chose to take on the rap name Envious as people keep envying for his defining trait: his positivity. Envious tries to live his best life by staying true to three of his biggest values: embrace your passion, live life in song, and be inspired by everything.

Cody Heims also believes that his positivity comes from the love and support of the people around him. The self-proclaimed mama’s boy declares that one of his biggest supporters is his mom, and calls her his #1 fan. He also gets support from his siblings, which include his older brother Christian, and his identical twin, Corey, who is a dabbler in rap like him.

When asked what makes him stand out from other rappers, he says, “I’m very persistent, I won’t stop until I get to where I want to be or what I want. I learn how to do things very quickly and apply them at an exceptional level. I’m very humble and respect any artist out there grinding.”

Aside from his music, Cody Heims also dabbles in acting, having appeared in the short films Phases of Mahina and P.W.N.A.G.E: People with No Actual Girl Experience. He has also tried out for The X Factor Season 3 and was able to pass through the first round of auditions.

Heri Iznaga Takes Mainstream Pop Music With “Dancing in the Mirror”

As mainstream pop music continues to dominate the music industry, a low-key yet promising, singer, songwriter, and producer, Heri Iznaga is all-out to take a spot with the release of his first original music video “Dancing in the Mirror,” which premiered on May 16, 2020.

Heri, who is born and raised in Cuba, moved to Miami at the age of 14 with his family to pursue bigger dreams. While he took some piano and guitar lessons but never succeeded in learning the instruments, Heri fell in love with singing and producing his own music. Without any formal voice lessons, he developed his vocal range by doing a cover version of famous pop songs on YouTube. 

In 2019, he released his first debut EP “State of Flux” as an experimental album based on his personal experience of a failed relationship, which took him three years to complete. His EP contains a mix of English and Spanish songs. 

Heri’s voice is undeniably soft, soothing, and powerful in tone. While singing, he remembers his childhood memories back in Cuba and how moving in Miami has been quite challenging while growing up. With his new song and music video, “Dancing in the Mirror,” he is channeling Cuba to Iceland with this heartfelt masterpiece.

Jude is a producer and a songwriter from Midland, Michigan. The young producer and songwriter has released his first record as young as 15 years old. His song titled “Brighter,” which now has over 300,000 streams, can be heard across all platforms.

Initially, a lot of people were confused about where his career is leading him, as his real passion was writing and producing songs and not singing. This confusion resulted in the release of his second song, which he has collaborated with the rapper, Eric Heron. After this, Jude collaborated with singer-songwriter, John Micheal Howell. Their song got featured in a national television show called “Nicole Crank Show.” He is having the time of his life, especially when he dropped his debut album that surpassed 1.5 million streams on all platforms. 

Aside from producing music, Jude also started a clothing brand by the name of “Bigger Dreams Club.” The clothing brand’s name originated from one of Jude’s song titled “Bigger Dreams.” The song mainly talks about chasing after one’s dreams by setting practical goals. And for the record, Jude was able to achieve all of these before the age of 18. 

The producer/songwriter’s advantage over his competitors is that he started his career at an early age. Jude’s consistency and underlying themes in his music are also what sets him apart from others. He releases content every day while dropping songs on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. He has a unique ability to intermix genres such as rock and hip-hop, which have caught the eye of many. With the rise of the Coronavirus pandemic, it has affected the world in an unprecedented manner. The health industry, the global economy, and the environment have taken the largest hit from the spread of the COVID-19 disease. The necessary precautionary measures for the novel coronavirus have led to worldwide lockdowns, quarantines, and travel bans, forcing people to stay in the comfort of their homes.

Alongside this unfortunate event, a group of artists has taken the pandemic from a different angle. The band 2nd Breath of Redemption has actually taken the global pandemic as an inspiration for the creation of a unique type of rock music.

Formed in 2013, 2nd Breath of Redemption, composed of song artists Angel Barbosa and Matthew Schultz, created music with a unique yet promising sound. The music style the band focuses on lands on the rock spectrum, ranging from grunge level to hardcore sounds. Back in 2016, the band released their very first Demo entitled “Lesson to Earth.”

However, the sound quality of the demo recording detrimentally affected its popularity to the public. This has not stopped the band from further developing and improving their music quality. This has even led them to what they have achieved today. Recently, the 2nd Breath of Redemption has taken on a more professional road for their newest single, “The Virus.” Mixed and mastered by Julián André Toussaint, the song emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic as its inspiration. 

The 2nd Breath of Redemption band currently works independently and is looking to release their very first professional album this summer of 2020 with the goal of sharing their music to millions of people around the world. Not only do they thrive in the area of rock songs, but they also produce inspirational Christian songs that cater to young and middle-aged religious crowds. The band’s ability to produce Christian music while incorporating some rock vibes is definitely trendy. The songs have a touch of modern sounds and aggressive vocals with some melodic riffs. These features are what make the sound unique to the ears.

While it may be true that the music style of the 2nd Breath of Redemption is still an evolving sound, the band is definitely successful in getting across the inspirational message they wish to share with their listeners. The band aims to take on the role of the voice of hope and wisdom of the younger generation, and they are doing this through their music.
