Rookie2x Teaches A Thing Or Two About Perseverance

A lot of emerging artists trying to stake their claim in the music industry. It takes a lot of risks to put their heart and soul out there through their music. William Loftin, or best known as the emerging Louisiana-based rapper Rookie2x, only had one goal in mind: for his voice to be heard. He swore to himself that he would work day in and day out to make his dream work. Rookie2x used to be part of a group called B.O.$., but has decided to go solo last December. At 26 and with little industry experience compared to other artists his age, he recalled the struggles of establishing his brand as a musician. As with all coming independent songwriters, Rookie2x was very hands-on with the production of all his masterpieces. His team records, mixes, and masters the songs in his studio while personally shooting his music videos on his phone. There are times as well where he would do all the editing to make sure that he gets the results that he wants for a particular song. When he released his debut single Intro, he had to make do with a meager budget of $2,200 for marketing, only to be scammed by a guy on Instagram who was impersonating renowned producer/A&R executive WillStylz. The man was able to take away most of his money, so all he had was an even smaller amount to tell people about his first-ever single. Although a harrowing experience, it didn’t break Rookie2x’s spirits. Instead, it motivated him to gain as many connections as possible and turn his luck around. Fortunately, he was featured by several significant rap blogs such as DjIceberg, ThisIs50, Source, RespectMag, among others. He valued the great friends he gained from the industry and have managed to expand his network because of his admirable humility and hard work. Despite his already booming career, Rookie2x admits that his music is far from the stereotypical industry standards. If you listen to his songs carefully, it contains some punchlines and metaphors that would make you have to replay the songs numerous times to grasp the message. Music became his outlet. When Rookie2x opens his mouth in front of the microphone, nothing else matters. It’s just him and his burning desire to share his voice with anyone who wants to listen. He recalls his past and even considered himself a lost kid who eventually was found—because of music. For the past months, Rookie2x believed in himself as no one else ever did. He didn’t hesitate to invest on himself, and managed to get his very own YouTube Artist Channel, Verified Spotify, Artist Account on Instagram as well as Facebook, among many others. He considered the music industry like a lottery where one has to lose a lot to win more. Fortunately for him, all the heartaches, disloyalty, and hatred that was translated in his music became a much more satisfying win eventually. With all these and the exciting opportunities ahead of him, he stands out for being one of the very few artists who don’t hesitate to connect with every single person who listens to his voice. Rookie2x teaches us to always reach for our goal. His hard work, determination, and belief for his craft were enough for him to beat all odds to climb his way up in the music industry. Don’t miss out on Rookie2x’s latest singles by following him on Spotify. You can also follow him on Instagram and subscribing to his YouTube channel. Rookie2x also has a website you can visit at www.rookie2x.com.

Taking Indie Music to the Next Level with Ma3jor League

Indie is the genre more traditionally known as independently produced music. This classification means that artists are not stuck nor limited to what labels and their managers want for the music they create. Because of this freedom, indie tunes are more often far from the usual trends of glamour or sexy or cool tunes. The artist and producers are unrestrained in expressing their message to their listeners. Rising indie producing company Ma3jor League takes advantage of the genre by sticking to the narrative that music should be relatable to its audience. Ma3jor League was founded by partners Kevin Briggs Jr and Sherrod Mason. Like any budding artist, they started their company in a basement in East Point Atlanta. But do not feel small with how they began as this producer is sure to make the next hits in indie music. Ma3jor League sets the bar high on the type and quality songs that should be released by artists like them. For this reason, they create a league of their own. The individual and shared experiences of the founders Kevin and Sherrod serve as their inspiration in Ma3jor League. These same collection of experiences are what also sets them unique from similar independent organizations. Their team in Ma3jor league aspire and are determined to keep perfecting their craft. Unlike most artists nowadays who don’t put enough time into their music, they want to be focused on bringing the best to their tunes. Just like the warmth you feel when grandma cooks a homemade pie, it’s time to put taste and love into music produced. Ma3jor League brings this passion that you can hear as they prepare their new creative work, actual hardwork as seen to be included in their craft. Their style in Ma3jor League is a combination of urban sounds and beat. They mix in some unexpected melodies and inspired cadences to surprise the listeners. Whatever is perceived to be the “new wave” now is not how Ma3jor League wants to sound. They adhere to staying grounded in the message they tell and the manner this story is being said. They stick to real-life experiences to make their music appealing to the broader and more diverse audience. Anyone who can relate to the message that is narrated in their music is their chosen crowd. Ma3jor League believes that demographics don’t matter. What you’ve been through and how you want to feel or think in that period in time, be it happy, melancholic, proud, or painful, is what most would easily choose if given options. A mirror that reflects our reality is the musical style they in Ma3jor League aspire to achieve. This technique is what they peg in making their next chart-topping tune. Just recently, Ma3jor League has launched its debut single, “Goin Out Sad”! Earthling XO’s Music Is Out of This World

Indie artists usually get the short end of the stick these days. Without a label and a whole team to back them up, indie artists don’t usually last long. To make it in an industry as brutal as the music industry, you need determination, grit, endurance, and most importantly, talent. When you don’t have all of those things, it can be hard to break through and make a name for yourself. As an indie artist, you’ll have to compete with millions of wannabe musicians who are posting and promoting themselves in any way. With the many choices, this industry presents you with, you’ll need a large following and dedicated listeners if you’re going to keep going.

Luckily, for one artist, he has all of those attributes in spades. Earthling XO is an Ohio-based indie rock artist. He is a rising star, and you should keep your eyes on him. The exciting thing about him is that he blends melody with heartfelt instruments, and he adds a dash of that glowing, eccentric vibe that fans can’t get enough of. So many genres of music inspire earthling XO, and he incorporates that in his songs. This incorporation results in a fresh new take on indie rock.

As a rising star, Earthling XO has developed an impressive online following. His Spotify has more than 10,000 monthly listeners, and he has more than 12,000 followers on Instagram. His followers are rock and indie music listeners. The sheer number of followers and listeners he has proves he appeals to a large number of people and that people do gravitate to his music.

In 2020, Earthling XO released his EP, The Arrival. The EP showcases his talent and creativity. The three songs in the EP all contain his aptitude for meaningful lyrics and melodies that you’ll be thinking about for days. The three songs have a different vibe going for them, and none of them sound the same.

In “Rum and Coke,” the persona talks about a beloved who doesn’t love them back, and as a result, he drowns out his feelings in “a steady diet of rum and coke.” The persona talks about good things that never last and how people can break your heart when you let them in. The melody made by an acoustic guitar is punctuated by melancholic and beautiful vocals and lyrics that will break your heart.

In “Sadie Hawkins,” the persona tells the listeners a story about a girl who has lost the plot. The persona reminisces good times like an eight-grade Sadie Hawkins dance, and he laments how he cannot be the good boy that saves the good girl.

Brandon Young is Bringing Country Music Back in the Spotlight

Music is all around us. It is in the supermarket when we buy our groceries, it is in the restaurant when we go out and eat, we hear it in our cars, our schools in the park and everywhere we go. And while there are claims that music is universal and could be understood and experienced anywhere, music can be different too. Different types of music are known to be genres. And one of the more popularly known genres of music is Country music.

Country music’s roots can be traced from American folk and western music. It consists of ballad and dance-tunes with generally simple forms, folk lyrics, and harmonies mostly accompanied by stringed instruments such as electric and steel guitars percussion instruments such as drums and other types of instruments like harmonicas. Some very popular country music singers include Shania Twain, Johnny Cash Taylor Swift, and Kenny Rogers.

One up and coming country artist is Brandon Young. This young artist from California aspires to be the first half-Asian, half-Caucasian country musician to be lined up with great country musicians like Jason Aldean.

Brandon Young’s love for music and country music started at a very early stage of his life. “I started singing as soon as I could talk. When I was little my dad would play Jason Aldean albums on our road trips and I would sing along and hum every song,” said Young.

However, it wasn’t until he started singing in his church that he discovered his talent in music. “ I started singing at church when I was 15, no one ever knew that I sing beside my parents, everyone thought I was joking,” stated Young.

Just like any other great artist Brandon Young did not have an easy life too. This artist suffered from several mental health problems such as major depressive disorder, severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, general anxiety disorder, and ADHD.

“Songwriting has been a perfect outlet for me.  It was one of the few things that helped me when no one else could reach me. I’ve struggled with mental health challenges my entire life and it was the thing that fueled the fire for say. I’ve had major character issues that I’ve discovered about myself through writing songs,” said Brandon Young.

Brandon’s music is not only for country music fans but also for those who are also experiencing mental health problems. He hopes that his music will help them the same way it has helped him.

Taking Independently-produced Music to the Mainstream with Jon Giurleo

Jon Giurleo’s song ‘Vinny Chase’ (featuring Dyl) is an independent release from successful, independent musical artists. Dyl, his collab, is best known for his hit single, Jordan Belfort, and as a chart-topper on College Billboard and Billboard. Dyl brings the song to life with his unique ability to deliver a fast rap, both smoothly and lyrically. “Vinny Chase’ is streaming on all platforms on June 12th of this year. This single may be Jon Giurleo’s freshes attempt to venture outside of his comfort zone as “Vinny Chase” lands squarely in the hip-hop realm.

He has since evolved into a contemporary pop and electronic music producer and DJ. Giurleo is an independent musical artist but has signed some singles to popular EDM labels. At 22 years old, this Boston-bred talent has already been making music for nearly seven years. Giurleo has earned a loyal fan base primarily through platforms like Spotify, Instagram, and YouTube. He is coming off of an especially big year in 2019 with the release of his electronic pop dance singles: ‘Right Here’ and ‘Someone Like You’.

Giurleo has a mindset that no two projects are the same. Every production is entirely different and is crafted to work with the artist it is produced for — this is the difference between beat makers and producers. Giurleo is a producer because he carefully crafts his productions to fit perfectly for that project in particular and works harmoniously with whatever artist the young producer is working with. He wants to partner with independent entrepreneurs in the music industry. Giurleo believes that artists and producers can successfully create, distribute, and earn royalty income/ publishing from their work, especially in this modern-day music industry landscape.

This need to make do freely is a need, especially for performers who base their source of income. With the COVID-19 pandemic, artists and small businesses in the industry are uncertain as to how they can bounce back from the enormous economic loss. For up and coming DJs such as Giurleo, the closures of night clubs and bars puts a dent in the number of opportunities for exposure to the local music scene. Anxiety remains a huge question mark looms for this part of commerce for the near future. How state governments plan to bring communities back to a sense of normalcy will impact the music industry significantly. Thus, there is a greater need to survive by looking at alternatives but already tried ways to produce music and make funding.

Jon Giurleo started making songs in his home in Massachusetts at the young age of 15 years old. He would listen to sample old vinyl records from his parents to make hip-hop beats. He shares that the hits weren’t very good at the time, but that’s where he fell in love with music. Giurleo explains that this appreciation led him to start learning his technique. Since then, he has been able to evolve his sound into an electronic/contemporary pop sound. To date, he remains thankful for those that have encouraged him to follow his dreams, namely family, close friends, and colleagues.”

Watch out for Jon Giurleo’s next release “Vinny Chase” (ft. Dyl) on June 12th through this link:

Kedanieh ‘K’Danye’ Myers and Her Music are Ready to Go World-Wide

Sometimes it takes a while to find the career path that we’re truly meant to take. The story of Kedanieh Myers, also known as K’Danye, is one of someone who broke through her shell when she found out she was destined to make waves in the music industry. K’Danye was born on October 6, 1994, in the beautiful country of Jamaica, and comes from a Jamaican heritage. She started writing songs in high school at a time when she was influenced by music in the likes of Dancehall, Reggae, and most of all, Hip hop and R&B. Shaped by all of these musical styles, she continued to grow and pursued a path in Jamaican music as a rapper-singer powerhouse. K’Danye describes her younger self as shy and never liked performing in front of an audience. But she realized that for her music to be heard, she needs to record and put them out into the world herself. She was then convinced to live with a completely different mindset and change into a confident, open-minded person who believes in her own ability. With the help of a college friend, she was able to record some songs she wrote herself, and that first experience inspired her to make more music. “From then on, it was love at first record,” as she put it. In her 3rd year in college, she bought her own equipment and started to record in her little closet. But K’Danye had a stroke of good luck when she met a producer while trying to get an internship. It was an opportunity to release her first EP titled ‘Ms. International.’ “Although K’Danye and the producer collaborated on that project, she knew that for her future songs, she would have to start saving and investing in herself. She burned CDs for her EP as well, as one of her singles, ‘Mr. Poverty’ in order to save for mixing and mastering.  K’Danye has been making music and performing since 2014 at places such as Kat’s Café, Red Light Café, Apache Cafe, The Caribbean Student Association (Caribsa) events as well as at other colleges. But she considers 2018 as the year she started to get more significant projects and accomplishments, because she performed at her first stage show called the ‘GT Taylor Extravaganza’. Now, K’Danye is currently working on Roots Reggae and Lover’s Rock Music, not only because she loves the genres, but as a tribute to the cultures that influence and inspire her. She prefers not to limit herself in one type of musical style. Aside from ‘Ms. International,’ she also has singles titled, ‘Brave Up,’ ‘Mr. Poverty’, ‘Ready or Not’ and ‘Rocky No More.’ All of her songs express her individuality and what music influences her. She hopes that the world will soon recognize her sound and flow: unique, clear, and energetic. K’Danye plans to help many people, including her family, when she achieves her ultimate dream of becoming a major recording artist. It is her sworn personal mission to help people in need when she reaches the level of success that she desires. It’s not going to be a surprise if soon K’Danye will be a household name because of her hard work, a positive and open-minded attitude, firm integrity, and unwavering commitment to her craft. To get in contact with K’Danye and find out more about her music, visit her website, or follow her on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Daniel Light Shakes Up the Music Scene

Curse words and violent images are rampant in today’s songs and other forms of media. It is not surprising to find top hits on radio and streaming platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music, about drugs and the degradation of women. Nowadays it is easy to find music lacking positive messages; their trendy beats camouflaging the negative content, causing a desensitization for its listeners. Fortunately, there is a new young voice making a difference.

East Coast personality, Daniel Light has entered the music industry with a message of “honesty and self-acceptance” in mind. Singing about tribulations and heartache, Daniel is not afraid to get personal with his listeners. “I love when people come up to me and tell me they connect with my music because they relate to it on a personal level. Those kinds of interactions really motivate me to continue writing and expressing myself through song.” said Daniel in a live interview with the Tribal Tribune.

Born in the East and raised on the southern coast of the United States by his Latina mother and French father, Daniel is not afraid to break the mold.  In just over a year Daniel has met with several Grammy award winning producers who represent established artists such as: Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, Fergie and Bob Marley to name a few. At the age of 16, Daniel flew to LA to film his first high production music video.

Now at seventeen years old, Daniel is taking over a neglected demographic fast. All of his music is clean, non-violent and anti-drug (as he does not believe in nor wish to partake in such vices), but it’s not Christian rock. With his experimental alternative sound, Daniel always has fans sitting on the edge of their seats excited to hear what he comes out with next.

Daniel’s sound is marked by its melodic style, catchy hooks and relatable stories of adolescence; stories that let his peers know it is perfectly okay to be vulnerable. Especially, in a world that is pressuring them to filter their looks, perfect their style, and mainstream the way they act.

Daniel believes that social media, in particular, has imprinted a false reality on the minds of America’s youth. For example, a lot of teenage girls are upset with themselves because they cannot meet the standards being shown 24/7 on Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, and other social media platforms. Reality stars and idols post Photoshopped photos that perpetuate unrealistic standards of beauty. Other teens, meanwhile, think that acting up — using drugs and engaging in delinquent activity — is the easiest way to become popular. Daniel wants his fans to know that’s not true and it’s okay to break away from these unhealthy behaviors.

The arts have the power to inspire and change people. Daniel has positively impacted other people’s lives. He’s distinguished himself as a unique voice by being 100% unapologetically himself. Daniel is driven by the passion for promoting self-love and self-acceptance among the listeners who are following his music.

The future is bright for Daniel Light. 2019 saw his emerging success — he was listened to in 77 countries and garnered hundreds of thousands of streams on his music. 2020 will definitely prove to be another amazing year for him. He looks forward to touching more people’s lives. He has far more to offer to today’s youth than just his music. Not only is Daniel an artist but an actor and entrepreneur as well. He has been in multiple theatrical productions and currently owns his own clothing brand, serving as the CEO and lead designer of Private Skool.
