Letasia Leak: Her Incredible Journey from Educator to Promising Singer
Independent R&B and soul music artist Letasia Leak is inspiring music lovers significantly with her moving songs. The talented songwriter and singer is best known for her lyrical talent that gives life to words that heal the soul. Before deciding to pursue a music career, Letasia was a passionate educator who taught special education and science since 2004.
Letasia’s love for education was primarily imparted to her by her loving grandmother, who ran a daycare when she was a small child. Growing up, Letasia had her share of difficult challenges where it concerned her parents, who had her when they were just in high school. As can be expected, her parents were not ready to fulfill their roles, considering their very young age. As a result, her family circumstances forced Letasia to live with her paternal grandmother at the age of five.
Fortunately, Letasia experienced a better life as she was being raised by her grandmother, who was a devout Southern Baptist woman, bringing Letasia along to prayer meetings, Bible studies, choir rehearsal, and Sunday services. This influence opened the door for her to sing in the church choir. She eventually started writing songs and poetry when she was about eight years old. Between 2007 to 2008, Letasia attempted to get people to sing and produce some of the things she wrote. Sadly, most of them did not materialize. Quite often, someone would also attempt to change the words in her songs, changing its whole theme and message altogether.
Around 2018, after many years of waiting for a break, Letasia decided to take matters into her own hands and independently produce and sing her own original songs.
“I’m motivated to build my own brand because I want people to experience my music and grow spiritually. I’ve always wanted to change the world in a positive way, and this is my way of doing so,” Letasia Leak explains. “I want others to be inspired by my story and encouraged to listen to my music, ultimately encouraging them to love themselves more as well as the people who surround them,” she adds.
