Country Singer on the Rise: Walker Wilson

24 year old Walker Wilson’s interest in music began at a very young age. According to his parents, he was singing and mimicking the radio before he could even walk. By 5th grade he had been in several church choirs and went on to sing in the Mississippi All State Choir. He picked up the guitar at around 12 years old, but just like most kids that age, he put it down shortly after. At 15 he picked it back up after watching a documentary on The Eagles. After many hours of practice, Walker slowly began to sing and play simultaneously. He played his first live gig when he was 19 as an acoustic opener for one of his friends who had a band that played around town.

At the beginning of 2020 Walker graduated from a technical college with a degree in Machine Tool Technology and went on to start a career as a CNC Machinist. He planned on working his way up as a machinist and making a lifelong career in that line of work. While he was working his 40 hours a week in the machine shop Monday through Thursday, he was playing shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Slowly but surely Walker began to dislike his career in the machine shop more and more while his love for playing music grew. He saved up enough money to move to Nashville in June of 2021 to pursue a career as an artist. Walker currently resides in Nashville, where he write as much as he can and plays shows almost every weekend. He just released his first single “Little Less Here” which is now available on all streaming platforms and he aspires to release more songs this year.

Upcoming Music Artist Imran “YoungDrip” Bound to Be a Hit in the Music Industry

0

For young artist Imran, music is not just something you listen to. It is something you create. Music is a lifestyle. It is his passion, and he is only starting his journey to reach his dreams.

The self-made song artist, also known as YoungDrip, discovered his drive for creating music at an early age. This developed, even more, when he started to do freestyle singing exercises with his friends FatSam and Mighty Husam. At seventeen years old, Imran dropped his first song, “Secrets.” When he turned eighteen years old, he started traveling around different states, such as Philadelphia, Atlanta, and New York, to perform songs. A year later, he decided to make a life-changing decision. He decided to pursue his dream of having a music career.

Imran has released several songs on his Youtube channel. Some of his released songs are “Feel Me,” “Talk to Me,” featuring FatSam and Carlos, “Pull Up,” “Hope,” and “Real Time,” featuring Oy Legacy. Recently, the official music video for “Pull Up” has also been released on his channel.

His music style is one that will remind listeners of Canadian singer, The Weekend. This is especially true for his latest released song “Real Time” as it features a contemporary R&B and Pop music style with a similar feel to several songs from The Weekend. This is not surprising considering that Imran’s greatest inspiration for his dream in the music industry is The Weekend himself. The idea of being signed by The Weekend is what pushes this aspiring artist to continue working hard in order to pursue his dreams.

What sets him apart from other vocalists is his ability to switch his vocals to different levels, skillfully. He has an ear for catchy tunes with just the right rhythm. While he is well-aware of his flaws as a singer and as a music creator, he does not view these as a threat or a weakness to his music career. He sees his shortcomings as a motivation to do better in singing and creating music. Indeed, his most significant competition is not other artists but himself. He constantly strives to be a better version of himself day by day.

Imran is also keen on fighting against any form of discrimination, whether in the music industry or outside of it. As someone who has Ethiopian roots and as a Muslim, he calls for equality in the treatment of everyone regardless of their race and religion. This advocacy is truly courageous and inspiring for such a young artist like Imran. Seeing an artist use his voice not only to sing but also to speak against racism is very rare.

His love for music and his determination to reach his goals in life keep him on the move in making more songs and working with more talented artists. With many more lessons in life to learn, this young but promising artist is definitely on his way to success.

Getting to Know the Talented Artists Behind Ebony Hustle’s Stellar Soundtrack and Score

0

Music plays an integral role in filmmaking as it ties together the entire movie experience. As such, it is crucial to create stellar scoring that evokes the right emotions and captivates the audience. Cognizant of this, the makers of this year’s highly anticipated film Ebony Hustle have created a one-of-a-kind soundtrack and score that complements its remarkable storytelling.

The movie has an excellent soundtrack that features four highly talented indie artists—Rosie Bush, Andrew Chandler aka Caleb Truth, Natalia J, and 86.

Rosie Bush performs the title track of the upcoming film, a song called “Hustle.” She is a soulful hip-hop and R&B singer with a gift for poetry. Her lyricism transcends beyond the physical and touches the hearts and souls of its listeners.

She shares profound and inspirational stories through the music she writes. As someone who loves to speak to the youth, she creates songs with powerful statements such as “Fxck Love” and “Natural.”

On the other hand, Andrew Chandler, known for his artist name, Kslay, is featured on the soundtrack for performing “Chuch.” However, this is not his only role in the production. The professional actor also portrays Caleb Truth, one of the lead characters in the film Ebony Hustle. You can also catch his performance in the music video for “Chuch” on YouTube and other video streaming platforms.

Another budding artist that showcases her musical prowess on the film’s soundtrack is Natalia J. The singer-songwriter born in Baltimore and raised in Houston started her musical journey as a member of a Baptist church choir.

Because of her powerful vocal register, she acquired lead roles in performances such as Phantom of the Opera, Annie, and Sister Act. Her single on the Ebony Hustle is called “Chasin Cake,” which expertly shows off her range and talent.

Finally, skilled rapper Marvin Watts, better known by his stage name Eighty-Six, performs the single “Keep Grindin.” The promising performer was once part of the group 10.40 Boyz. His history consists of several notable solo mixtapes. Over the past few years, he had taken a hiatus to focus on his family and children. But, his participation in the film’s soundtrack signals his return to the music scene.

The soundtrack is produced by Lamar Jones, also known as Marz, who hails from Houston, Texas. Employing his unrivaled understanding of music, he has curated an impeccable record. Talking about his creative process, the sound engineer shared, “I love when you hear a song, and it instantly transports you to a memory no one could ever take from you. So I create music to uplift people and to provide an escape to a personal place, even if it’s just for a moment.”

Aside from its stellar soundtrack that highlights up-and-coming musicians, Ebony Hustle has an incredible music score that contains 13 tracks. It was created by expert composer and sound designer Colin Andrew Grant, who has diverse experience as a dialogue coordinator, sound designer, and music editor.

Undoubtedly, the fantastic team behind Ebony Hustle has done an exceptional job at creating a brilliant soundtrack and score fitting for an equally spectacular movie. The executive producer and the film and soundtrack,  John Wayne S. III, looks at this entire project as what an indie film is capable of being. “This is an opportunity to showcase stellar talent on the screen and in the airwaves.”

Catch the premiere of the crime thriller Ebony Hustle December 1st on FOX TV’s streaming channel Tubi TV. The film’s soundtrack and score was released through Londyn Town and available on your favorite streaming platform. You can also watch the Ebony Hustle trailer on YouTube

Billie Eilish on having COVID: “It was bad”

0

Billie Eilish opened up on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show that earlier this year she went through COVID despite being fully vaccinated.

The singer shared, “It was bad. I mean, I didn’t die, and I wasn’t gonna die, but that does not take away from how miserable it was. I mean, it was terrible. I still have side effects. I was sick for, like, two months almost.”.

Billie pointed out that despite being vaccinated and still getting sick, she believes that the vaccination saved her from worse complications. “I want it to be clear that it is because of the vaccine that I’m fine. I think if I weren’t vaccinated, I would have died, because it was bad.”, she continued, “When I say it was bad, I more just mean that it felt horrible. But really, in the scheme of COVID, it was not bad. You know what I mean? When you’re sick, you feel f*cking horrible.” Billie Eilish advocated for vaccination since the beginning of the pandemic.

Recently, the singer hosted and performed at Saturday Night Live.

Lil Uzi Vert’s insurance company wanted to cut him off for forehead diamond piercing

0

Everyone knows the iconic Lil Uzi’s forehead piercing with a pink diamond which cost him $24 million, but not everyone heard the details about how this process actually went.

On December 10, the rapper went live via Twitch on Trainwreck’s Scuffed Podcast and shared that his insurance was not a fan of this new accessory. “My insurance tried to cut me off, they were like, “This kid’s trying to kill himself,””, revealed Lil Uzi, “Because we knew it was a piercing, my insurance looked at it like, “This kid just implanted this diamond in his head, and he’s gonna die.” I really had to call the piercing person and show them low-key… it’s literally a piercing.”

The artist had no doubts that the piercing won’t provoke any complications in the future, therefore, he was surprised that the insurance company reacted in a different way. In his own words, “I never even thought about my insurance company, like my life insurance. I just started living life, I’m like “what they f*ck are they calling for?””

Even though they didn’t approve it at first – eventually, it turned out to be just fine. The rapper said that “everything is straight” now.

Nowadays, Lil Uzi Vert doesn’t have a pink diamond in his forehead due to the incident at Rolling Loud Miami which happened in July, 2021. “I had a show at Rolling Loud and I jumped into the crowd and they kind of ripped it out.”, mentioned Lil Uzi to TMZ. However, according to NME, he plans to bring it back.

Kanye West’s very personal Thanksgiving prayer

0

Kanye West posted a video on Instagram, featuring his Sunday Service choir and very personal Thanksgiving prayer. While the rapper was giving the prayer, he touched on such topics as the separation with his wife, Kim Kardashian, failed run for the presidency in 2020 and his mental health.

In a 5-minute video, he opens up, “My mini me (son) is a mix of two of my favorite things – me and my wife’s face. All I think about every day is how I get my family back together and how I heal the pain that I’ve caused. I take accountability for my actions. New word alert: misactions. The one thing that all my successes and failures have in common is me. Let’s start with A – Alcohol. I would drink to take the stress away and knock the edge off. Drinking affected my health and the health of people around me because I already had a hair trigger temper and this just heightened it.” Further, he mentions, “B – episodes. I went into a manic episode in 2016 and I was placed under heavy medication. Since then I went on and off the medication, which left me susceptible to other episodes, which my wife and family and fans have had to endure.”. After a small stop, he continued again, “Ego. My Ego has a tendency to go past the threshold of being motivating and entertaining to just be an overbearing. There are ways to show confidence without arrogance. Temper. Now I know none of our ever picture this. Sometimes I scream and that screaming might have helped me tell off everyone who doubted me in music, but that screaming did not help me keep my family together. Religion. Self righteous christian behavior. When I got saved, it did not immediately make me a better person, it made me a self righteous christian. Mix that with being rich, famous and very very very very very very attractive. And you got a Molotov cocktail ready to be thrown through the window of anyone who ever disagreed with me.”

Later in the speech, Kanye shares, “Good Lord, my wife did not like me wearing the red (Make America Great Again) hat. Being a good wife, she just wanted to protect me and our family. I made me and our family a target by not aligning with Hollywood’s political stance, and that was hard for our marriage… Then I ran for president without proper preparation and no allies on either side. I embarrassed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one and thank God only press conference.”

Kim Kardashian didn’t give any public comments yet.

Doja Cat hasn’t had fun recording music in the last five years

0

Doja Cat, who crushed music charts with her song “Say So”  in 2020 and recently got eight Grammy nominations in the 2022 ceremony for her album “Planet Her”, shared feelings regarding her career via Instagram Livestream. Turns out, it is not as good as it can look like.

According to The Neighbourhood Talk, that had a chance to record a part of the livestream, Doja said that she hasn’t enjoyed recording music in the last 5 years, “I just mean, make music like, willy nilly, have fun and just jam and make some shit. I haven’t done that in maybe five years it feels like I’m doing all this shit that I don’t fuckin’ wanna do.”. She continued, “I don’t want to take fuckin’ pictures. Like, yes, planning a photoshoot is very fun. Capturing a concept, capturing a visual idea, like something like that… I love fashion. I really do. Do I want to do that shit because I have to? No! No I don’t! But I feel pressured to do shit like that. I don’t want to do that. I want to be home. I wanna play fuckin’ – I wanna make music. I wanna play fuckin’ video games.”

This is not the first time when Doja shows her disappointment and feeling of being pressured to work. Earlier this year, she posted now-deleted tweets, “I’m just tired and i don’t want to do anything. I’m not happy. I’m done saying yes to motherfuckers cuz I can’t even have a week to just chill. I’m never not working. I’m fucking tired. Alex is getting old he’s 68 years old and i can’t even be there for him. i wanna be alone.”. In the next and last tweet, she texted, “its not anybody else’s fault but mine anyway i just keep agreeing to shit i dont wanna do in the future. its my own dumb ass fault. and then I’m too tired to put any effort into this shit cuz I’m so run down from everything else.”

Adele is back and she is cooler than ever

0

A long awaited comeback from Adele arrived last Friday, on November 21, with her new album “30” . In this work, the singer opens up about her divorce. As she said in her interview to Vogue, “It’s sensitive for me, this record, just in how much I love it. I always say that ’21’ doesn’t belong to me anymore. Everyone else took it into their hearts so much. I’m not letting go of this one. This is my album. I want to share myself with everyone, but I don’t think I’ll ever let this one go.”. Moreover, Adele shared some details about one of the songs in the album, which is called “I Drink Wine” – originally, the track should have been 15 minutes long! “[The label] was like, ‘Listen, everyone loves you, but no one’s playing a 15-minute song on radio.’”, said Adele in a conversation with Rolling Stone

Apart from bringing 12 very emotional and personal tracks, Adele went further and initiated some changes on Spotify.

The streaming platform announced that it accepted Adele’s request and removed the default option of shuffling tracks when playing an album in order to save correct narrative flow made by an artist.

This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry!”, tweeted Adele,”We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended. Thank you Spotify for listening”.
